Correspondent, 24 October: Following India's thrilling four-wicket victory over New Zealand in the second T20 match, Team India Head Coach Gautam Gambhir has praised the performance of his young cricketers with a special three-word reaction. On October 24, taking to the social media platform 'X', Gambhir expressed his joy by posting, "Boys becoming Men", lauding the patience and determination the youth showed under pressure.

The Indian side found itself in a precarious position while chasing a target of 181 runs, struggling at 112 for the loss of six wickets at one stage. Just as the match appeared to be slipping out of their hands, youngsters Tilak Varma and Nitish Kumar Reddy turned the tide to secure what seemed like an impossible win.

Before this crucial stand, Naman Dhir had accelerated the run rate with an aggressive knock of 31 runs from just 17 deliveries. Following Dhir's dismissal, Varma shouldered the responsibility to score an unbeaten 51 off 26 balls. He was solidly supported by Reddy, who smashed an unbeaten 26 from 13 deliveries.

Together, Varma and Reddy built an unbeaten partnership of 69 runs in merely 30 balls, officially sealing the victory for India with just one ball remaining. Thanks to the decisive knocks by these young players, India has now secured an important 2-0 lead in the five-match T20 series.
