Correspondent, 26 October: In a significant development for farmers right before Diwali, the 24th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana will be distributed on October 30. Eligible cultivators will see a direct transfer of Rs 2,000 into their bank accounts next week.
Cultivators who have not yet finished their e-KYC process are required to do so urgently to avoid missing out on this financial assistance. The e-KYC procedure is a mandatory condition designed to verify the identity of the registered beneficiaries enrolled in the scheme.
Payment delays can also be caused by incorrect data entries, bank accounts that are not linked to Aadhaar, or unfinished land verification processes. Beneficiaries are advised to proactively confirm the accuracy of their personal information and land records to resolve any discrepancies in advance, rather than waiting for the final day.
Farmers can verify their eligibility status by visiting the official portal, pmkisan.gov.in, on either a computer or a mobile device. Users must select the ‘Know Your Status’ option, input their registration number along with the on-screen captcha code, and click ‘Get OTP’. Entering the one-time password sent to their registered mobile number will display their beneficiary and e-KYC status on the screen. Any errors found in these records should be corrected by reaching out to the relevant service center.
The e-KYC process can be completed through three distinct methods: OTP, fingerprint, or face authentication. For the OTP-based approach, a farmer’s mobile number must be connected to their Aadhaar. After choosing the ‘e-KYC’ option on the scheme’s website or mobile application, users must enter their Aadhaar number, input the OTP received on their Aadhaar-linked mobile, and follow the provided instructions to finish the procedure. Once completed, individuals should recheck to ensure the verification was successful.
Farmers experiencing difficulties with the online steps have the alternative of visiting a ‘State Service Center’ or a ‘Common Service Center’ to complete fingerprint verification. Furthermore, mobile face authentication can be performed by downloading the ‘PM-KISAN’ and ‘Aadhaar Face RD’ applications from the Google Play Store. Users must log in using the mobile number registered with the scheme and access the ‘Beneficiary Status’ section. If the e-KYC status indicates ‘No’, they should select the e-KYC option and follow the instructions to scan their face.
