Correspondent, 17 October: Fifteen-year-old cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who made veteran bowlers sweat with his aggressive batting during this year's IPL season, is currently profoundly disappointed. A recent social media post made by him is now a major topic of discussion within cricket circles.
Suryavanshi was selected for the Indian squad in the ongoing five-match T20 series between India and the West Indies. However, he failed to secure a place in the playing eleven for any of the first four matches and merely had to sit on the bench.
Both teams have won two matches each so far in the series. The West Indies defeated India in the third match, bringing the current series score to a 2-2 tie. Consequently, the fifth and final match will be highly decisive for the series victory.
Since both teams will utilize their full strength in the deciding game, the possibility of Suryavanshi getting an opportunity in the final eleven has almost disappeared. Furthermore, Indian openers Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma are currently in tremendous rhythm. The team management will not take the risk of dropping them to give Suryavanshi a chance in such a crucial match.
After having to stay out of the squad for four consecutive matches, Suryavanshi finally lost his patience. He expressed his regret through his Instagram account with a post consisting of just two words. Writing "I still believe", he gave vent to his feelings, clearly demonstrating his sadness over not receiving consecutive opportunities.
