Correspondent, 22 October: Actor-singer Bjorn Surrao has dismissed rumors that renowned South Indian music director Anirudh Ravichander and Kaviya Maran, daughter of Sunrisers Hyderabad owner Kalanithi Maran, are planning a destination wedding abroad. Surrao, a close friend of Anirudh, clarified that the marriage ceremony will take place in the Indian city of Chennai rather than in Greece.
Media reports had recently claimed that the couple would tie the knot in Greece next month. However, according to a report by the Times of India and an interview given to Filmibeat, Surrao addressed these claims. He explicitly stated, "There is no such thing as Anirudh getting married in Greece. Their wedding will happen in Chennai."
Surrao and Anirudh have known each other since their college days and have collaborated on films such as 'Doctor', 'Jailer', and 'Jailer 2'. Although the wedding location is considered confirmed following Surrao's disclosure, no official announcement has yet been made by Anirudh, Kaviya, or their respective families.
According to currently discussed information, a private wedding ceremony is expected to take place on November 11 in the presence of only immediate family and close friends. Following this, a grand reception will be organized on November 21. Reports indicate that Sun Group Chairman Kalanithi Maran has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi, chief ministers of various states, and numerous prominent figures from the fields of cinema, business, and politics to the welcoming ceremony.
