Correspondent, 23 October: A series of threatening e-mails has triggered alarm in Mumbai, with veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan's bungalow, 'Jalsa', receiving a bomb threat. Additionally, a separate e-mail warned of a grenade attack on renowned singer Daljit Dosanjh's concert, indicating a renewed wave of such intimidation in the city.

According to the information received, these threats were not limited solely to celebrities. Similar threatening e-mails were also sent to the Mumbai Mayor's office as well as several prominent schools located in the Dadar area.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the Mumbai Police initiated swift action. Adhering to standard operating procedures (SOP), search operations were launched across various parts of the city. With the assistance of dog squads and the bomb detection squad, police conducted meticulous inspections of the 'Jalsa' premises, the Mayor's office, and the concerned educational institutions.

Police officials stated that no suspicious or objectionable items have been discovered during the search operations thus far. As a result, authorities primarily suspect that these threatening e-mails are bogus, while the Mumbai Police continue to conduct further investigations into the matter.
